Meet the Staff
Dr. Annmarie Hill, the owner, and main veterinarian for the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beach . Dr. Hill graduated from the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign in 2001 with honors and made her way to Southern California after being selected to participate in a small animal and exotic pet medicine and surgery internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital under the leadership of board certified specialists in dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, surgery and internal medicine to name a few. She has served as medical director for Animal Ambulance and staff veterinarian to the Wetlands and Wildlife Center (a non-profit organization dedicated to the critical care of our local wetland animals). Dr Hill is married with two non-furry kids, Alec and Dane and has 4 cats (2 hairless) named Mootsie, Morty, Mr. Bigglesworth and Grandma Wrinkles all of which were left at her hospital due to their owner’s inability to care for them. She also is the proud owner of a weimaraner named Tanner that she rescued in vet school.

Ron is not only the Practice Manager here at the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beachhe is also Dr. Hill’s husband. Ron is a former LosAngeles County Deputy Sheriff and worked for years, after his retirement from law enforcement, in software, technology and medical equipment sales. Dr. Hill and Ron share a deep love for animals and a commitment to providing the best care possible for these lovable creatures.
Dr. Hill and Ron are proud to see their human children Alec and Dane growing into adulthood while continuing to raise their furry and not so furry children which include 4 cats (2 hairless) named Mootsie, Morty, Mr. Bigglesworth and Grandma Wrinkles, all of which were left at their hospital due to their owner’s inability to care for them. Last but not least is our “wild child”; an over active senior citizen weimaraner named Tanner that Dr. Hill rescued in vet school. Tanner is now over 15 years old and is hard to keep up with!
You will see a lot of Ron greeting our customers and patients throughout our hospital. If he talks too much, remind him to get back to work. Visiting seems to be Ron’s favorite activity
Dr. Elaine Lukic. You will see Dr. Lukic working part time at ACCHB. Dr. Lukic is passionate about making a difference in the well being of all animals. This is why she is also on staff with Orange County Animal Services. Her compassion shows in her medicine. Dr. Lukic is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lukic has 3 cats sharing her home: Leo, Magellan and Alex. She also has a crazy golden retriever named Stella that she rescued from Orange County Animal Services with a fractured leg that she nursed back to health with DAILY bandage changes for weeks! Now that’s love.

Omar is our lead technician at the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beach. Omar was originally trained by Dr. Hill when he was 18 years old, working at an animal hospital in Long Beach. Omar and Dr. Hill also worked together at another animal hospital in Aliso Viejo. Dr. Hill recognized talent when she saw it. Three years later, Dr. Hill found the right opportunity to bring Omar on the team at the Animal Care Center of Huntington Beach. Omar has a unique ability to anticipate the needs of our patients and the veterinarians he works with. Teamwork and leadership is where Omar shines. Whether it’s your dog, cat or any exotic pet, they’re in great hands with Omar. Seven years of extensive experience in a busy animal hospital environment has prepared Omar well to lead our technicians. Omar has also extended multiple continuing education seminars and in particular, has a special interest and aptitude in dental cleanings. If you have any particular questions about dental care then he’s the guy to ask! Besides being an outstanding lead technician, Omar is also a dedicated and loving dad to his son Niko. Niko and Omar’s Bengal cat’s name is Meliss.

Mika comes to ACCHB with more than 7 years of experience in the veterinary field and is a “superstar” at every position within the hospital from pharmacy, reception, lab and dental care to, of course, her main job of assisting Dr. Hill as a technician. Mika is the mother of one son named Keegan and works hard to keep our patients healthy. Keegan and Mika have a black and white Manx named Rowan that was left at our hospital due to a severe bladder infection and obstruction, and a Jack Russell named Pixie that she rescued when she was diagnosed with Parvo and her owners wanted to put her down. She’s super sweet and we’re really glad Mika chose to save her.

Kathryn first came to us wanting to make a contribution to animals as a volunteer. Kathryn is now working on staff as a veterinary technician’s assistant and is also attending Orange Coast College. Her goal is to be a future veterinarian. She is just beginning her journey. After accumulating some additional credits from Orange Coast College, Kathryn will finish her undergraduate degree at UC Davis, with the goal of continuing on to UC Davis’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
We all would like to thank Kathryn for her dedication demonstrated by her unselfish giving of her time to make a difference in the lives of animals. Dr. Hill is very excited about being Kathryn’s mentor and seeing that she receives the best real world experience for this very exciting and rewarding field of medicine.
I should also mention that Kathryn may be young but she already has three kids; the furry type of course. I’m talking about two pembroke welsh corgis named Sophie and Truman, along with a mixed breed cat named Emma
